UK版p405 "Wet," he said truthfully. Ron made a noise that might have indicated jubilation or disgust, it was hard to tell.
>>259 He had trodden on a cup of cold tea that had been sitting on the floor outside his bedroom door. (中略) Possibly the cup of tea was Dudley's idea of a clever booby trap. (UK版p.19)
'That's Xenophilius Lovegood, he's the father of a friend of ours,' said Ron. His pugnacious tone indicated that they were not about to laugh at Xenophilius, despite the clear provocation.
(UKp.123) His pugnacious tone indicated that they were not about to laugh at Xenophilius, despite the clear provocation.
652) ...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... (UK741)
UK21章p341 ... and a series of sickening metallic thuds which told him that Xenophilius had been blasted off his feet and fallen backward down the spiral stairs.
(20章p498) Harry stood, transfixed by the sight, too intent upon the battle to notice anything else.(UKp279)
>>968 He looked simply too big to be allowed, and so wild - long tangles of bushy black hair and beard hid most of his face, he had hands the size of dustbin lids, and his feet in their leather boots were like baby dolphins. In his vast, muscular arms he was holding a bundle of blankets.(UKp16)
このtoo big to be allowedは「許しがたい」というのもどうなんだろう。
UKp.62 At the foot of Harry's mattress he saw two large, dishevelled shapes emerging from tangles of blankets.
At the foot of Harry's mattress=ハリー(起き上がってる)のマットレスの足を向けていた方 dishevelled=髪や服が乱れた
時計を持った方はツイード背広に太腿までのゴム引きを履いていたし〜 UKp.70 Both were dressed as Muggles, though very inexpertly: The man with the watch wore a tweed suit with thigh-length galoshes; (ふたりともマグルの服装だったが、ひどくまずい着こなしだ。
